FSAS held annual workshop

On Friday, 21 November, the Forum for South Asia Studies at Uppsala University held its annual workshop at Museum Gustavianum. The goal of the workshop was to provide a forum for new and long term scholars researching South Asia at Uppsala University's institutions to meet and exchange about their respective research agenda. 

After a welcome note by Dr Ranjula Bali Swain, chairperson of the Forum, Florian Krampe, coordinator of FSAS, introduced participants biefly to the ongoing work of the Forum. Professor Siddharth Singh, who is visiting professor at Uppsala University under a special agreement between the Uppsala University and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), introduced his research to colleagues (photo). Singh will present a public lecture Friday, 12 December, on "Indian Studies in India and abroad: Challenges and Prospects."

In the second part of the workshop participants entered into an engaged and constructive discussion about possible future directions of the Forum's work as well as an exchange about new pathways of Uppsala’s research on South Asia.
